what is bazaar
Bazaar is a free, fast, and effective support programme for young people and adults. Over eight sessions you’ll focus on elements of CBT, mindfulness, and more, gaining the tools you need to improve your mental health.
At Open Door Charity, we have developed Bazaar over many years, codesigning each area alongside our members. By listening to feedback, we’ve created a programme that over eight sessions has been proven to reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, provides an effective alternative to traditional support, and that exists within non-clinical spaces.

How does Bazaar work?
Bazaar is a one-to-one mental health support programme that takes place over eight hour-long sessions. When an individual signs up they are carefully paired with a volunteer peer mentor as soon as possible, with sessions starting shortly after.
Rather than a counsellor or therapist, a peer mentor is more like a friendly guide who will take you through the programme, listening to what you say and helping you to get the most out of each session.
-
What can I expect?
Members look into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, root beliefs, and the different ways that their thinking can become twisted, as well as what can be put into practice to improve their mental health and well-being.
Techniques and practises learnt over the eight sessions include mindfulness, how to alter habits, self-care, and finding the coping strategies that work for each person.

Who is Bazaar for?
Bazaar is aimed at those between the ages of 14-35 who are experiencing low mood, anxiety, and/or panic attacks.
However, there are no requirements for joining Bazaar, and the programme is open to anyone within the age group looking to further understand their mind and learn new techniques and skills through an alternative to traditional support.
