About
Who created Bazaar, and why?
Bazaar is Open Door Charity’s flagship mental health support programme. Initially using other programmes and introducing our peer mentor model, we soon realised that there was a need for a programme that spoke directly to – and was created with – the young people and adults that we support.
Over many years, we’ve codesigned the programme based on the feedback of those we’ve supported to develop a unique, non-clinical, preventative support programme that we’ve delivered not only regionally, but nationally.
To share the positive impact we can have beyond our local area, we partner with academic institutions like universities and colleges, as well as with public sector organisations in unique environments and with businesses to instil a positive workplace culture that improves the mental health of staff teams.
What should I expect from Bazaar?
Getting support for your mental health can sometimes seem scary, which is why through Bazaar we’ve tried to make things as simple as possible. Come along to each of your sessions, chat with your mentor, try some techniques in-between sessions, and by the end of the final chapter you should have a variety of tools you can use in your day-to-day life.
Who is Bazaar for?
Bazaar is for anyone and everyone between the ages of 14-35. Whether you’re currently experiencing anxiety, low mood, and panic attacks, or just want to learn more about your mental health and how to support yourself, then Bazaar is for you.
Where can I access Bazaar?
You can access Bazaar in-person at our home – the Bloom Building – in Birkenhead here, as well as through our academic, workplace, and third sector partners.
